Pro-loco, history and participation
With alternate fortune I have cultivate for a long time the want of “taking part”, and never, above all when I was a teenager, I would have thought that the occasion was there, “ step under my eyes” I put it under inverted commas at the end because I consider it a solution of a democratic system, at man’s measure; I had homesickness more and more I underwent the fascination of what Plato and later de Tocqueville said about it; theories/thought stimulating and involving, full of respect and justice and than realities sadly different; without the intention of making too bold approaches, I remember with pleasure Gaber who with his song said “Freedom is participation”, to whom closes himself in house waiting that some institutions, as delegated to do, provides everything; taking part is synonymous of controlling, verify, updating, to be there; it is extremely important that we avoid the every representative looses control with people and the value the politic action ( as it is happening every level)!
Who delegate can never think of having finished is duty; who represent must continually verify is commission ; we are really free in the measure we can be involved in the determination of our destiny. But now I speak about the issue that I think to be important the association Proloco to which I belong some from some years. It is an association of a country now composed by a few people but many others over spread into the world for the emigration; I say nothing new if I say that is a new administrative formula that defined everything is down to promote geographical reality either in a physical sense either (urban fittings cleaning, order…) or (in non imaginative sense)(imagine, identity).
Well, from special telling of old people, I now and from here understood how much it was important, that the Pro-loco already existed, during the first half of the past century, the country was a big centre of poor agriculture; there wasn’t a piece of land which was cultivated wood that wasn’t taken care of path that wasn’t trampled down. I make an example when above all during the intermediate seasons, great storms arrived great storms, or downpour, for this there was a person who had the great water damaged the routes, for this reason there was a man who was in charge in a simple and direct way, of whom, I don’t say the name, but that old people remember well, that during the Sundays in the morning spade and mattock on his shoulder, passed the village along, with a bell calling everyman; Obviously they do not follow him happily, because having worked a week of hard work they follow him and together they reordened, repaired.
It was an important moment of condivision that defined a mutualist sociology, all the people ripristinated, reordened, mended.
It was an important moment of mending which defined a sociologistic mutualistic, it creates a strong identity, and I add, even if than of ecology we do not speak, it prefigured a deep respect for our habitat which is considered almost a gift from God; they were anyway precursor of the actual pro-loco, with evident commune tracts.
The context obviously different; the free nature of the participation today is not percepied today whom is accustomed to the local institutions, with relative fisiology of burocracy, and refugee in private.
The Theorema is: modernity – organization, organization- division of the activities; Why a citizen which pays the taxis should fatigue when he is paying someone who does it for him? The answer I have already said it, an association pro-loco strong and concrete like this, I have already answered at this question!a strong association with a strong pro loco and concrete paradoxally stops the administrators often defaulting not always for their own fault, to their own responsibilities as representative; and more if an association or simply a group of persons want to be heard just bringing facts and to words , even the burocracy totters and cannot pay homage to that.
So nowadays, as in the past, an active pro-loco, which takes part to the events, comes out to be a strong element of identity for the village; even if here I make an example: the origin, of the pro-loco to which I belong is above all the organization of a autumn party which during the year has grown up it assumed dimensions not careless involving for need more and more people of the village; I have to say that I have always felt proud working side by side with the other people of the village, wearing the same shirt or apron as it was the uniform of a little Army, which fought for marketing and economy the good results of that experience had convinced and enlarged the interest and that strong identity reemerged and proud of the village people, either of the one active an involved or of the non active anyway present to the organized manifestation for self – financing; it is more and more small and marginal the strong clog of agnostic and refractory to every kind of duty. As I was saying, the common denominator, between past and present is the voluntary apprenticenship, the continuous gratiousness of the duty towards the commune interest, in fact, in pro-loco it isn’t possible to get on career, and it isn’t possible to remedy a price, on the contrary you spend time and money that nobody will get you back; you pass of the time to tidy paths, dressing and clearing the tables, doing bricklayers and improbable farmers; everything with enthusiasm and humility.
Sometimes arrives delusion, moment of discouragement, moment stolen at our life it is just a moment, than we go on; the results, althought some critics, there are; I don’t want to exaggerate; the villa is changing disposition either from a material point of view every year we built new features and new ones are reordered following a real pianification, or the most important, from a cultural point of view; even more people of the village is chosen the cultural point of view; even more and more village people, near and faraway, discover again the rapture of their identity and their roots; very deep values; values not only in relation with the village but above all, to the balance, to the knowing of ourselves in relation to the other, proofed in our world where everything can be bought or sold. I started with and I closed with the “taking part” between inverted commas; it should be understood and stimulated by whom determinant are the ethics principles that build the personal relationship a civil; it is a patrimony that has got potential and should the people assigned to the commune interest to promote the importance of it; probably they do not do that because it is not convenient or they are afraid of it.
A last connotation: the intent of this piece of paper is philosophical but I consider right expone the natural curiosity of whom will feel to read it: the pro-loco is that on of Sologno. |
